What is a Unique Activity?

There’s a lot of stuff to do out there, but it’s not all created equal.

A Unique Activity goes beyond the ordinary tour or class to provide an enriching opportunity to experience something new, and walk away with new skills, knowledge & connections.

Unlike Events, an Activity is initiated by an online booking. Activities are 1-on-1 or small group experiences that allow close, interpersonal interaction with the local expert who handcrafted the experience.

Examples of unique Activities may include a 1-on-1 fly fishing class in the Utah backcountry, an online class to learn how to draw your own anime character, learning how to rollerskate in the streets of LA, or Laughter Yoga.

FYI—Activities can be held in-person or online.

3 ACTIVITY TYPES:

There are 3 different Activity Types to choose from:

One-Off

A single experience that is not part of a sequence. One or more Seekers can book it.

Course

A sequential experience with a complete set of classes that occur at a set frequency. One or more Seekers can book it. A single booking will be created for the whole set of classes.

Multi-Day

An experience that spans across consecutive days. One or more Seekers can book it. A single booking will be created for all days booked.

The Activities you find on exploringnotboring.com are measured against our Quality Standards—Basic rules of the yard for high-quality operations and value.

What is a Unique Event?

A Unique Event is a public gathering that is vibrant and creative.

It’s an intentional space that brings strangers together to leave as friends. Like Activities and Products, Events are measured against our Quality Standards before they can be discovered on exploringnotboring.com

FYI—Like Activities, Events can be held in-person or online.

Unlike Activities, Events are open to the public. The Event date is selected by the creator, not the buyer, and will be held regardless of advanced bookings.

Events are medium to large group experiences. Due to the size, Events don’t typically offer the same level of interpersonal interaction with the creator as Activities do, but still aim to provide a meaningful, shared experience

Examples of unique Events may include Goat Yoga in the Park, Open-Mic Poetry, Adult Field Day, or Paint Night with Live Music.

2 EVENT TYPES:

There are 2 different Event Types to choose from:

One-Off

A single Event that is not part of a sequence. Multiple Seekers can book a single instance of your Event on the fixed date and time offered.

Recurring

An Event that occurs periodically, repeatedly, or across multiple days. Multiple Seekers can book a single instance of your Event or multiple instances booked together in advance.

What types of Products can I sell on exploringnotboring.com?

We support products that encourage experiences & connections without sacrificing the environment. These types of products are handmade or designed by the creator to encourage new experiences or positive vibes (visceral experiences). We divide these products into 2 categories: handmade goods or experience gear (and yes, a product can be both).

• Handmade Goods: Items made and/or designed by you, the seller.
• Experience Gear: Any tool, accessory, or item that expands or elevates a Seeker’s experiences (e.g. hammock, garden book, roller skates, craft supplies, yoga mat, or wildly unique thingamajigs).

Here are the key elements we look for in a product:

✅  Is it made using eco-friendly or sustainable practices?

✅  Was it handmade or designed by the seller?
